Patrick Beverley has always been an irritant on the basketball court. In the 2024 NBA Playoffs, it was Beverley’s actions off the court that earned him a four-game suspension to open next season.
Beverley was suspended for the first four games of the 2024-2025 NBA season for two incidents in the Milwaukee Bucks’ season-ending elimination to the Indiana Pacers in the first round of the playoffs. First, Beverley threw a ball into the crowd and hit a woman in the face. After the loss, Beverley told a reporter he wouldn’t answer her question unless she subscribed to his podcast.
Here’s the press release from the NBA:

Beverley is a free agent this summer, which means whatever team signs him will do so with the acknowledgement that he’ll miss the first four games of next season.
It’s the second time Beverley has had to serve a season-opening suspension. Beverley also got hit with a suspension to start the new year after he shoved Chris Paul in the back during the 2022 NBA Playoffs.
Beverley apologized to both the fan and the reporter after the game. Now he’ll have some extra time on his hands to reflect on his actions.
